The BLS Instructor Manual provides lesson plans and essential instructional guidance for teaching the BLS Provider Course in both instructor-led training (ILT) and blended-learning formats, for initial and renewal courses. It is intended for use by AHA BLS Instructors, and each instructor is required to have their own copy when teaching BLS Provider Courses.

Available in both print and eBook formats, the eBook is the electronic equivalent of the printed manual and offers a convenient alternative with the same comprehensive content and lesson plans instructors need to teach the BLS Course.

This manual has been updated with the latest science from the 2025 Guidelines for CPR and ECC.
